"I can't wait to go to a Tiki Bar!"

Jarvis' quote of the day as we pack our last bits and head for the airport... He's looking forward to mocktails - Bless'm :-)
Hawaii here we come!

Monday 8 July 2013

7 Psychopaths and we are home!

Flight home was not the best for me.
Last leg bonus thou... we got an empty seat, so Jarvis got a very good sleep!

I got to see a few cool films of mention...
7 Psychopaths
The Intouchables

It's always a strange feeling returning home after having an amazing holiday somewhere far away.  We noticed it last time too, but the feeling of "SPACE" is incredible!
Back to open plan living and separate sleeping spaces...
Worst bit... Cooking! After eating such amazing food while we were away... Pressure is on, but with no working oven... I have an excuse ;-)

Jetlag has been a test for all of us this time...but we seem to be back to a semi-normal state now.
Looking back over the photos... Spain was so much better than we expected.  The food especially! Oh boy... I need a good dose of San Sebastián pintxos!!! Sigh...

We finally saw the Queen!!! (and other London treats...)

Yee Heeee How lucky!
The Queens Guard (and band) passing by our Hotel... nice!

On our way to London City... our last full day of our holiday.

Additional bonus for Jarvis ...
The Great Western train service to Slough, and then to Paddington...

The main objective - Hamleys!

But... we had to have a pub lunch first...

And Mummy had to do a bit of shopping too...

But eventually we made it to Hamleys (or as Jarvis calls it - "Hamilies")
A total floor of LEGO mania!
Deja vu?

Finally got to meet her Royal Highness!...
Who knew she was making an appearance in Hamley's today?
Yes, so if you are counting... that is two big bags of shopping today...
ummm its 5.30pm have we got time - might need 'another' suitcase?
And to finish a spectacular couple of days... pub grub at a flash pub this time in Windsor
(not the Carpenters Arms tonight - much as we enjoyed it)
So tonight its "The Duchess of Cambridge"
Best fish pie and some sort of yummy sticky pudding for afters!
(Bruce had to have the Eton Mess! which wasn't the best of options in the end)
BUT I think there was something like baked goats cheese was our starter?
If I remember rightly - delicious!

Where's that blimin Tardis???

The long anticipated... (for me anyway)
LEGOLAND !!!!
Jarvis just found out about this surprise visit last night.
We had 1 day only, and we were going to hit it with all the energy we had!!!
Q-Bot in hand and map at the ready... it was going to be a day of military precision... nothing would be left out unless necessary!  I had done thorough research and knew the best rides to go for first before the crowds turned up. We were first in the door and waited patiently for the half hour before gates opened... then, we were on!

After a quick walk through the land of Lego... The level of excitement mounting...
we headed straight for the most popular and fastest rides... THE DRAGON was first on my list!!! And thankfully Jarvis took to it with total enthusiasm and it was awesome!
(no 'Dragon's Apprentice' for us today!)

After the Dragon ride for the third time in a row, we went on...
"Pirate Falls- Dynamite Drench" (AND yes, we got totally drenched!),
then "Laser Raiders", "Scarab Bouncers", "Fire Academy"...

Then it was off to "L Drivers" - where Jarvis got his Legoland license! (CUTE!)

We hit the "Longboat Invader" (longest queue of the day at 30 minutes!)

Then we were off to the "Vikings River Splash"!!!
When it comes to wet water rides - Legoland is a brutal assault...
(Disneyland is for wimps!)
Looks tame enough... Yeah Right!
My boys enjoyed this first ride sooo much they talked me into another go round...
This is a grimace, not a smile! ha ha

We all got 'completely drenched' twice today - (the first time on "Pirate's Falls-Dynamite Drench" and then the double attack on "Vikings River Splash")
I am not exaggerating!!! DRENCHED - I was ringing out my skirt!

Bruce getting his own back... see the queue of children behind him...
they didn't 'ave a chance ha ha

To warm us up... a Knight's lunch of 1/2 Roast Chicken and chips at the Castle!
Oops - and a pint each too....
and that only means....

Ok, then another couple of rides on the "DRAGON"!!!!

Then, there was no excuse... "The Jolly Rocker" (nearly lost our lunch on that one!)

On the way to "Orient Expedition" (Lego City's train ride).
And would you believe it, you get squirted with water on this ride too!

Mona Lisa in Lego - nice!
"Atlantis" was next on the list... Jarvis loved it! We submerged underwater in a Lego Submarine AND this time, we didn't get wet!

The Biggest Lego Shop was our next stop - sooo cheap in comparison to our toy shops in NZ!!! We had a little spree!  Jarvis' birthday pressie sorted!

Then... last ride of the day (Jarvis' idea) was Digger Challenge... (with Mum's help - probably not the best idea!)

And last but not least... Miniland as they tried to get rid of us as all the rides had closed and doors were about to shut...

Friggin exhausted... and still no Tardis!!!

Jarvis was super sad to leave (he is already planning to bring his family here when he is older) What a fun day out thou ... Perfecto!
